Bows & Rosin

Here you see the two bows (Cello and Bass). As you can see they are nearly the same length - but the bass bow is about 150% wider. The extra hair on the bass bow delivers more volume plus allows one to bow less often thereby cutting down on bow noise.

The cello bow is made of razilwood, octagon stick, imitation whalebone grip, fully-lined ebony frog with Parisian eye, silver button, framed Abalone slide, and genuine unbleached horsehair. Not only does this make the bow more economical but the added stiffness is well suited to the extra pressure required to play the Musical Saw.

The Bass bow has a "German" Frog which keeps the hair farther away from the stick. This allows one to bear down quite hard on the saw for extra loud notes. The stick is thicker than the cello bow thus you will have to endure essentially no "flex" while playing.

Rosin

There are two boxes of rosin in the picture a light and a dark - except for pigment, they are identical. You get what I happen to pull out of the box - unless you tell me to send you a specific one. (and even then, I may be out temporarily out of either one.)

The rosins are Kohr brand - nothing fancy - consequently quite cheap. For playing the saw, a $20 cake of rosin will give no better performance than these. Plus saw players go through rosin a lot faster than other string players.
